Entries will be open to students in the age group 12 to18 years old.

COMPETITION RULES

• Students submitting entries MUST be enrolled in schools to which an active Rotary Interact Club is attached.
• Each entry MUST have the RCNK  Entry Form as its cover page with the following information completed:

1. The name of the student, home address, contact number (s) and email address (if any).
2. The name of his/her supervising teacher and Principal, and the name, address and contact number(s) of the school he/she attends.

• Entry forms ( MUST be accompanied by a copy of the student’s Birth Certificate to verify age.
• Essays are to be typed using size 12 font, double-spaced and printed on letter-sized paper.
• Essays MUST be original. Any entry found to contain evidence of copying from a previously produced essay or other literary work will be disqualified.
• Essays exceeding 2,500 words will be disqualified.
• The winning essays will be recognised by the RCNK and published on its website.
• All essays published become the property of the Rotary Club of New Kingston.
• Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third placed winners and certificates of merit to other outstanding entries.
• Children or relatives of members of the Rotary Club of New Kingston will not be eligible to enter the Competition.
• Entries MUST be hand delivered to the Rotary Club of New Kingston c/o Chaser’s Club, 5 Belmont Road, Kingston 5, or sent by email to rotary.newkingston@gmail.com
• The closing date for the receipt of entries is Monday, December 15, 2014.
